About Us

Chief Calligrapher

Luna

My name is Luna, and I am a Shodo calligrapher living in Okayama Prefecture, in the heart of Japan. Shodo is a cherished aspect of traditional Japanese calligraphy culture.

My Shodo journey began 45 years ago. It was then that I happened to meet Ms. Suzuki, the esteemed instructor of a local Shodo class in my hometown. Witnessing her extensive body of work left an indelible impression on me. Ms. Suzuki, a distinguished Shodo artist whose works grace the esteemed "Nitten" exhibition—the pinnacle of Shodo exhibitions in Japan—inspired me to seriously delve into the study of Shodo.

As a member of the esteemed "Kansai Shogeiin", an organization known for its longstanding commitment to Shodo education in western Japan, I underwent rigorous training. After years of dedicated practice and achieving various levels of proficiency, I was certified as a high-level expert by the Kansai Shogeiin in April 2023.

I currently devote my efforts to teaching the art of Shodo to children through my own Shodo classes, with the goal of instilling the joy of calligraphy in them. In addition, I actively participate in National Shodo Competitions every year.

Allow me to share a glimpse into my personal life - I am a mother of two children: a son attending high school and a daughter enrolled in junior high, both of whom share my passion for Shodo. In my leisure time, I find inspiration for new works by delving into various historical novels.

Each of my creations is imbued with my utmost dedication and passion. My aspiration is to share the beauty of the Japanese language, as expressed through Shodo, with people worldwide. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to fulfill your requests.

Chief E-commerce Officer

Yoshi

Hello, I'm Yoshi. Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction.

I've been working in e-commerce and web system development in Japan for over 25 years. After working as a web engineer at Yahoo! JAPAN for 13 years, I founded my current company in 2016 after becoming independent. Additionally, I hold a national qualification as a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) consultant, and I am officially certified by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan.

My encounter with Luna was in 2019. At that time, I was traveling from Tokyo to Okayama to conduct web marketing seminars. Luna happened to be attending one of them. When I discovered Luna's mastery of Shodo, I was deeply moved by her work. From then on, we brainstormed various ideas together and ultimately decided to create a new cross-border e-commerce site aimed at sharing the elegance of Shodo with people around the world. We named our store "Interior Calligraphy", with the aspiration of evolving Japanese Shodo into an art form.

“Interior Calligraphy” is the culmination of my life and will become the most important work for me. Together with Luna, we will create the best artwork and shop, and listen to the voices of our customers to ensure that everyone around the world is delighted.

By the way, I'm a big sports fan, and I hold a black belt in Judo. For everyone around the world who loves Japanese martial arts like Karate, Judo, and Aikido, the artworks of “Interior Calligraphy” are perfect! Be sure to check out the Hanging Scrolls (Kakejiku) crafted by Luna with meticulous handiwork.
